Why this store exists
We started Cattle Guard Supply after watching how this product actually gets bought online: you find a guard, you pay three or four thousand dollars, and then somebody calls you about freight — an open-ended second charge on 1,500 pounds of steel you've already paid for. Every major seller works this way. We didn't think ranchers would miss it if it stopped.
The operating rule
One rule drives everything here: the delivered price comes before the credit card. Your ZIP code turns any guard on this site into a final delivered number, computed from the same carrier lanes we book. Checkout charges it once. If freight bills over our quote, we absorb it — that's what the handling buffer is for, and it's why we can put "no second charge" in writing.
What we sell and what we don't
We sell Powder River steel cattle guards — H-15 through U-80 ratings, the same units county road departments spec — plus wings, clean-out options, and free foundation drawings. We don't sell installation, we don't sell liftgates that can't hold the product, and we don't sell anything we'd have to explain away later.
We deliver. We do not install. Our installation guide is free and thorough, and most ranch buyers set a guard in an afternoon with a tractor.
Founder-run, phone answered
This is a founder-run operation in the American West, and the phone number on every page reaches a person who knows the product: (800) 555-0143. Two-minute sizing calls are the best part of this job.
